Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is very common and can cause sharp pain in the heels. This is the inflammation of the plantar fascia under the foot. 

The fascia is one of the most important structures of the foot, it supports the arch of the foot, like a elastic that is stretched and under tension. 

When left untreated, plantar fasciitis becomes a chronic problem that can develop into Lenoir's spine, an abnormal bony growth in the heel. 

The causes of plantar fasciitis are diverse and may include: 

• weight gain
• unsuitable shoes
• biomechanical foot problems
• hight arch or flat feet
• physical activity
• osteoarthritis
